The Client

In 2021, Beth Chernes Copy & Strategy began working with a market research company located in Tampa, Florida. This company received low organic traffic and wanted fresh SEO content writing to reflect its new brand image. 

Their goal was to attract leads in new industries and engage readers with fresh content on their website. They wanted consistent SEO content to showcase their authority as subject matter experts in those sectors and to share on social media.

The Challenge

We identified a few challenges with their content strategy:

  • No regular editorial content calendar
  • No SEO expertise for content production
  • Content required extensive data research

The approach

Our SEO content strategy consisted of an 8-phase process, starting with a comprehensive site assessment and brand voice guidance.

  1. Research: We interviewed the company to understand all aspects of the business, including service lines, target clients, and why their clients worked with them.

  2. Competitive Analysis:
     We researched their top competitors’ websites to understand how they positioned themselves and the top-performing content.

  3. Content Briefs:
     We worked with their marketing team to develop a solid process for collaborating and creating monthly content. 

  4. Content Research:
     Due to their industry—consumer and market research—all content has to refer to high-authority sources and showcase technical data in an engaging way.

  5. Content Creation:
     Budget constraints made going all-in with a content marketing strategy for SEO for the entire website and old content impossible. They prioritized consistent new SEO content as a goal, so we laid out a plan to produce content consistently paired with the SEO keywords they selected. Then, they would scale efforts after their new website launched. Our strategy started with four monthly articles at around 1000-1500 words per article.

  6. Feedback and Revisions: We collaborated with the marketing team through Google Docs to ensure all content was rewired and approved before sending it to the website development team.
     
  7. Content Marketing: All articles included focused calls to action and were delivered on time to be scheduled to be shared on social media. As a result, we increased not only organic traffic but social traffic as well.

  8. SEO Strategy: Starting in July 2023, we started search engine optimization of all old content and high-performing website pages and fixed any site errors.
